Shandong University of Science and Technology
(SUST), founded in 1951, is a multi-disciplinary university, offers
comprehensive education in engineering, science, management, humanities,
law, economics and education while giving prominence to engineering
and the integration of science and engineering.
Main campus is located in Qingdao—a most charming coastal city with a view of "red tiled roofs, green trees, jade sea, and blue sky" and host of 2008 Olympics Sailing Regatta, another two campuses are located in Tai'an—a tourist resort well-known for Mt. Taishan, a World Natural and Cultural Heritage site, and Jinan—the provincial capital known as a "city of springs". There are 15 schools plus 9 affiliated teaching departments, with a total of 67 majors for undergraduates, 76 master's degree programs, 23 doctoral programs, 2 multi-disciplinary post doctoral programs. SUST currently enrolls 31,000 full-time students, including 2600 doctoral and master's degree candidates as well as over 28000 continuing education undergraduates. SUST has an excellent faculty with a total of 2600, including 224 professors, 401 associate professors, 770 senior academics and 3 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; 5 foreign academicians of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences; 9 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering are also engaged as adjunct professors. SUST actively promotes academic exchanges and cooperation between international universities. The university has been active in developing the internationalization of education. Currently the university has academic partnerships with educational and scientific institutions in more than 15 countries. SUST has established cooperation and exchange with more than 50 universities and academic institutions abroad and carried out more than 40 international technology cooperation programs. The excellent academic performance, deep foundation of culture and a modern open environment make SUST an ideal place for international students to pursue their study.
Chinese Language and Culture Course This course is taught in Chinese composed of 3 levels of study: Elementary Level, Intermediate Level and Advanced Level, offering the following courses: Intensive Reading, Spoken Chinese, Reading, Listening Comprehension, Chinese Culture, Chinese Writing, and Reading of Chinese Newspaper and Periodicals. Summer Chinese Language Course This is divided into Elementary Level, Intermediate Level and Advanced Level, offering the following course: Comprehensive Survey of Chinese Language, Spoken Chinese, Listening Comprehension, Chinese Culture, and Reading. The courses are held in Chinese. Activities: Laoshan Mountain tour, Visiting Qingdao Brewery (Expenses are included) Bachelor, Master, and Doctor Courses International students can choose Bachelor, Master, and Doctor Courses.
Application should made directly to liaison office of SUST, Copies of the Application Form for International Students are available from the BNK Consultants International offices and can also be downloaded from the website at: http://www.bnkconsultants.com Applicant admitted by BNK Consultants will receive the Admission Notice, JW202 (Visa Application Form for Foreigners) from International Office of SUST. The applicant admitted may bring the Admission Notice, JW202 and Physical Examination Record to the Embassy or Consulate of the People’s Republic of China to apply for an X visa, and those who shall stay in China for less than 6 months may apply for “F” visa, and needn’t take medical check.
International students must submit to the International Office with 4 photos, the passport, Admission Notice, JW202 and Physical Examination Record for Foreigner at the time specified in the Admission Notice. Those who fail to register without the prior consent of the International Office will be considered as voluntarily giving up the enrollment, and those who are unable to register at the specified time must seek permission from the International Office directly. 1. Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, Taiji etc. 2. Weekend trips to Mount Taishan, Confucius hometown, Mount Laoshan etc. |
